Yesterday wasn’t about speed. As you probably guessed from the title, it was about timing. For me, this meant focusing on timing with breathing. In the main set, I alternated between relaxing and that timing/breathing focus and just relaxing into the swim while trying to maintain that timing/breathing on a faster interval. It worked. The last 75 was 1:00. (I did push that one a little harder.) It was good. Sometimes, you just have to step back.

500 warmup (~7:30 min)

Warmup set (600 yds, 10 min)
6 x 100 on 1:40–focusing on breathing/timing

Main set (1600 yds, 29:10 min)
10 x 100 (1000 yds, 19:10 min)
Odds on 1:40: focus on breathing/timing
Evens on 1:30

8 x 75 (600 yds, 10 min)
Odds on 1:20: focus on breathing/timing
Evens on 1:10

Sprint set (200 yds, 4 min)
8 x 25 sprints

150 warm down

Total yards: 3050
