I’ve been delinquent the past couple of days. Well, not really. As I am an independent contract editor, there are times when I receive editing requests that are time sensitive. That happened on both Monday and Tuesday. So, getting in today was lovely, even with the wardrobe malfunction. 🙂 In the last 150 yards of the last 400, my cap slid off my head. I could feel it slipping and kept pulling it down. Silly me thought I could possibly ignore it for the last 150 or so. Nope. After the flip turn, it came off completely. I had to stop and swim back to the wall to put it up. Then, my goggles weren’t tight enough without my cap. My hair was floating all over the place, but I wanted to finish the 400 in my interval, which I did . . . with 7 seconds to spare.
Oh, did I mention the guy you dove in my lane before letting me know he was getting in. Since I was swimming down the middle of the lane, that could’ve been dangerous. I let him know that you always ask. Just like while driving, you can’t expect other people to see you. Yes, they should, but it doesn’t mean they will. Also, if I’d decided to flip over on my back, I could’ve hit him. That has happened before.
Other than those two minor things, it was a good swim.
