My base 100 pace is 1:30. I set the 100s in the main set :05 slower than my regular 100 interval so I had a little rest time to really push those 50s. Or, at least, try to make them all on :40 or better. I didn’t succeed with all of the :45 intervals, but I did with the :50.

It was a beautiful day in the pool. Every lap swimmer had their own lane today. Maybe the holiday weekend had something to do with it. It’s hard to say. Regardless, I enjoyed having my own lane, although I wouldn’t have minded having a swim buddy. And it looks like soon we’ll have 3/lane with no speed set on the lanes. This could make swimming sets and intervals much harder. Sometime in August, it’ll go to 4/lane . . . Short course. 🙁 Yes, that makes me sad. With a variety of speeds in the lane, it will be very hard on everyone swimming together. Hopefully, by then, they’ll have switched to long course. However, if they open it up to everyone by that point, I might be able to get a few friends together and we could commandeer a lane. (Crossing fingers)
