Although I had a time slot for yesterday, I decided to stay home and nap. I think I’ve been a little burnt out and just needed a day to recoup. So, I was back at it today and it was a good swim. Remember all that talk about flexibility and finding my zen? Yeah, well, less zen today. One of the people who jumped in our lane, first jumped in without letting us know. The man who was splitting the lane with me was coming back our way when she suddenly realized what she’d done. Um . . . perhaps observe the lane first?

Yes, this was a precursor of things to come. (Sigh) She was a decent swimmer, she knew the etiquette (at least stopping at the wall once and letting me pass her), and then didn’t follow through. Even when I came up beside her and was passing her, if we came to the wall at the same time, she didn’t stop. We’d literally flip at the same time, and I’d take off because, if she wasn’t going to stop, I wasn’t going to stay behind her. One 25 behind her put me :05 behind my pace. Even if she saw me right behind her (literally on her tail practically skulling not to run into her), she’d keep going. And, one time, I was almost on top of her, we came to the wall, she pushed of and did breaststroke. Also, when I’d go to pass her, she’d speed up. Not that it made a difference. LOL I mean, I still passed her. I just had to push a little harder to do it.

The guy was a sweetheart. Usually, it’s the other way around.

However, I swam well, so there was that at least.
