Well, it appears that my IM day has extended into IM week although, today, after the first 35.5 yards of breaststroke, my abductors were acting up and causing issues with my knees. I’m not sure why they were bothering me, but I stopped doing breaststroke all together and adjusted the sets accordingly. Instead, I substituted other strokes for it. In the 100 IMs, I rotated through the strokes. The first 100 “IM” of each round was 50 butterfly/25 back/25 free. The second was 25 fly/50 back/25 free, etc. Apparently, I have been doing enough fly that now I can do a 50 fly without dying . . . The first round, anyway. LOL This does not mean I’m fast. Honestly, I have one speed for fly. Let’s just say my backstroke is faster. Significantly faster, like :03/25. If you talk to others, as in coaches, it shouldn’t be, but it is. So, there’s that. But I’m getting stronger in fly. Or I have more endurance. Or maybe the truth is that I’m just swimming it slower so I’m not dying at the end. (I think the last is the most likely hypothesis. LOL)

So, see, my workouts are not sacrosanct, not even to me. Adjust as you need to for whatever you have going on that day.
