It’s been a few weeks, maybe a month, since I’ve had a fun workout. Today, I decided to rectify that error. So here is my attempt at a “fun” workout. Was it fun? Was it really? Yeah, you can find out for yourself. (Grin)

As ever, adjust intervals, distances, and strokes to suit your fitness/speed level.

50-minute swim workout, “fun” day

500 warmup (~7:20 min)

Warmup set 2x (600 yds, 11:20 min)
4 x 50 on 1:00
1: 25 underwater dolphin kick on stomach as far as you can then free/25 underwater dolphin kick on back as far as yo can then back
2: 25 fly with breast kick/25 back with dolphin kick
3: 25 breast with dolphin kick/25 free with dolphin kick
4: 25 corkscrew drill/25 free with breast kick
100 on 1:40

Main set 3x (1350 yds, 22:40 min)
4 x 100
50 easy on 1:00
R1 & R2:
breath control on 1:35
25 breathe every other stroke/25 breathe every 3rd/25 breathe every 4th/25 breathe every 5th
R3: regular swim on 1:30

Bonus set (200 yds, 4 min)
8 x 25 on :30
Maintain all under :20

200 warm down

Total yards: 2850
