It’s that time of month again: the breaststroke emphasis swim workout. I’m rather proud of myself for doing this amount of breaststroke and even a 100 at the end. (Breaststroke is not my stroke. Matter of fact, I practically kick as fast as I swim breaststroke. It is what it is.) I could’ve gotten at least another 50 in if I hadn’t been delayed entering the pool due to a business call. Sometimes, life interferes with swimming.
50-minute swim workout, breaststroke emphasis
Warmup set 4x (600 yds, 10:30 min)
75 swim on 1:15
3 x 25 on :30 — 1st 25 BR with dolphin kick/2nd 25 BR two kick/pull/3rd 25 BR
Main set 4x (1200 yds, 21:20 min)
100 moderate on 1:35
100 IM on 1:45
4 x 25 on :30
For the 25s, start with IM order, then exchange out one of the strokes for BR until in the last round, you’re swimming 4 x 25 BR.
100 breast <—this should be fast. Set a time you want to beat and go.
200 warm down
