50-minute swim workouts, distance day

Today was distance day, and since it’s been kind of a hard slog the past few weeks, I wasn’t sure where I would be as far as time goes. To say I surprised myself is putting it mildly. I swam faster than I expected, which is better than slower. LOL I felt less like I was fighting the water and more like I was gliding through it–the way it’s supposed to be. LOL It was slightly less than 50 minutes again, but I’m in, and that’s all that counts. I’ve started adding the amount of time each set takes. This way you can easily pull out a set and mix and match.

50-minute distance swim workout

500 warmup (~7:30 minutes)

Warmup set 4x (600 yds, 9:40 minutes)
100 on 1:35
50 on :50

Main set 3x (1800 yds, 27:30 minutes)
400 on 6:05<—descend 4 seconds by round
200 on 3:10

150 Warm down

Total yds: 3050
