This morning, someone called from Culver City’s Parks and Recs Department to let me know that the pool was closed today because they “only have one staff member coming in today.” So, my backstroke workout was canceled (boo!), but I swam with SCAQ. (Yay!) Luckily, I was able to sign up at the last minute.

While I’m grateful I can swim as much as I do and do it alone, there’s something about swimming with others. It’s more fun and they push you to go faster. Which is exactly what I did. I swam faster. Faster than I expected.
