We decided to go ahead and remodel our kitchen. I got my dream kitchen. (Yay!) We went from this:

Old Kitchen

and this:

To this:

and this:

and, finally, to the beautiful kitchen I’ve dreamed about.

During the day with the new recessed lighting. Yes, we are still putting things away as they just finished everything this past weekend. We replaced the stovetop and oven with a range. I love my new Thermador range. (It came with a “free” dishwasher, so replaced that, too. It was a good choice to replace our old one. The last load we did in it we had problems getting the latch to work. See, even our appliances were telling us it was time. 😀 ) The only downside to the range’s power is that it heats up the house. On the upside, when it’s cold, it will heat up the house. LOL I love the six burners and the fact that the grates are connected. There is no wasted space. It simmers superbly and the pancakes I’ve cooked on it are great. You cannot multitask when making garlic bread or it turns to cinders in seconds. Literally. It’s all good, though. I just won’t multitask while making garlic bread. LOL I love it. 🙂

At night, with the LED under the counter lighting that Charlie installed. The under counter lighting really highlights the beautiful backsplash. It just turned out beautiful. 🙂 (How many times can I use the word “beautiful?” I’m sure I can work a few more in. 😉 )

The new cabinets with our old refrigerator. It still works, so we will wait to buy a new one. The nice thing about this is that we have the space now to buy a larger refrigerator. Before, our options were pretty much limited to what you see here. We looked at some over the weekend, but this one still works. If we had a bigger house, I’d rip out the wall with the refrigerator on it. We do not. The need for storage, and a refrigerator, wins. LOL

This is a closeup of the countertop and backsplash before we’d put the cover plates for the outlets on. (Because I frigging love that counter. I want to hug it and pet it and call it George. LOL It’s beautiful. 🙂 ) The countertop is fusion quartzite, exactly what I wanted.

I am truly blessed to see my dream kitchen come to life. We are not quite done as we still need to sand and paint. (A very pale, soft green is what I’m aiming for. While the current yellow is okay, it no longer goes with our decor.)

Now, I’m off to pet my countertop. Have a wonderful weekend!

(By the way, Charlie loves it, too. 🙂 )
